The Vocatura family didn’t start out in the restaurant business, they started with a small family bakery — Vocatura’s Bakery — on Pierce Street in Westerly’s North End. This is a part of town where large populations of Italian immigrants settled, and opened up businesses to serve their needs.
Tradition
It was intimidating moving to a foreign land, only knowing what you knew from your homeland, and having local restaurants, social clubs and grocery stores catering to your needs helped to ease people into a new life. The bakery served up fresh baked bread for the locals daily, until they moved to there current location in Norwich, CT. There they serve the same fresh bread, baked daily, without compromising on the quality and freshness, from their humble beginnings.
Passion
The Vocatura family has been in the restaurant and food business for a long time and serve Westerly, Misquamicut, and Norwich with their old world family recipes. Voc’s Dunns Corners Pizza & Pub, located in Spindrift Village in Dunns Corners, and Voc’s West Side Pizza in Norwich, offer daily specials and pizza made with dough that is made fresh daily.
We serve homemade Italian favorites — the same ones our family has grown up on for 3 generations. Our sauce is our own family recipe; Mama Rosas – hailing from southern Italy – is the secret behind the recipe.
